BHP's copper production in the first fiscal quarter increased by 4% year-on-year.

On October 21, BHP released its operational update for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025 (ending September 30, 2025). In this quarter, the company’s iron ore production declined by 1% to 64 million tons, with an average realized price of US$84.04 per wet ton, up 5% year-on-year. Copper production increased by 4% to 494,000 tons, with an average realized price of US$4.59 per pound, up 8% year-on-year. Coking coal production rose by 8% year-on-year to 4.9 million tons, while thermal coal production fell by 4% to 3.5 million tons. BHP stated that it remains on track to achieve its full-year performance guidance.
