Recently, the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Finance of Jiangxi Province jointly convened a promotion meeting for the demonstration project on ecological restoration of historically abandoned mines in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. Relevant officials from the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Finance of Jiangxi Province attended the meeting.

The meeting reported on the progress of five demonstration projects for ecological restoration of historically abandoned mines in Jiangxi Province, as well as other relevant information. Representatives from Ganzhou City, Fuzhou City, Ji'an City, Yingtian City, and Yichun City presented reports and exchanged views on the implementation status of these projects.

Relevant officials from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Natural Resources pointed out that the successful application for the demonstration project was hard-earned and holds great significance for improving the province’s ecological environment and enhancing the quality and stability of its ecosystems. All localities must adopt a sense of responsibility—“always keeping a watchful eye”—strengthen their local responsibilities, enhance communication and coordination, pool their efforts, enforce rigorous supervision and assessment, and ensure that all tasks are effectively implemented. We must use strict constraints to guarantee the full achievement of performance targets. We should maintain robust investment intensity, accelerate implementation progress, improve restoration outcomes, properly carry out acceptance and closure procedures, reinforce safe production practices, and complete all work tasks with high quality.

Relevant officials from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Finance stated that Jiangxi Province has successfully applied for demonstration projects for four consecutive years, reflecting the central government’s high level of trust and earnest expectations for Jiangxi Province. To ensure the smooth implementation of these demonstration projects and enhance the effectiveness of central funding utilization, we must elevate our political awareness and promote the implementation of these projects with high standards to achieve tangible results. We need to secure adequate financial resources to support the advancement of these demonstration projects; strengthen collaborative efforts and closely monitor project performance to ensure it meets the required standards; intensify financial oversight to guarantee the safety of funds; and, with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, carry out the demonstration projects with high quality, thereby establishing the “Jiangxi Experience” in mine reclamation.
