State Administration for Industry and Commerce:

We have received your bureau’s “Letter Regarding the Provision of Fee Discounts for Online Trademark Registration Applications” (Document No. [2007]306 issued by the Administration for Industry and Commerce Office). After careful consideration, we hereby notify you of the fee standards for online trademark registration as well as related matters as follows:

I. To promote online applications for trademark registration and enhance the quality and efficiency of trademark registration services, the fee standard for online acceptance of trademark registration applications is 20% lower than that for paper-based applications, at RMB 800 per application (limited to 10 goods in the same class; for each additional good beyond 10, an extra fee of RMB 80 will be charged per good).

2. Your bureau must strictly enforce the prescribed fee items, fee scope, and fee standards, and voluntarily accept supervision and inspection by the price, finance, and audit authorities.

3. Your bureau shall, in accordance with the regulations, obtain a fee collection license from the National Development and Reform Commission and use fiscal receipts uniformly printed by the Ministry of Finance.

IV. The above-mentioned provisions shall take effect as of October 1, 2008.
