According to Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Tajikistan’s gold production in the first half of 2022 increased by 15% year-on-year. In addition, two large-scale gold mining enterprises—Talco Gold and Tebian Electric Apparatus Dushanbe Mining Co., Ltd.—began operations this year. Kabir stated that the commissioning of these two major enterprises will further boost Tajikistan’s gold output and effectively promote the country’s economic growth.
　　In April 2022, the China-Tajikistan joint venture “TBEA Dushanbe Mining Co., Ltd.” (ТВЕА Душанбе саноати кухи) began operations at its gold mining project in Tajikistan. The ceremony was attended by Tajik President Rahmon and Zhang Xin, Chairman of TBEA. TBEA Dushanbe Mining Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary controlled by the TBEA Group. It holds mining rights for two gold deposits—Kumarji Bolo and Duobai Sharqi—with estimated reserves of 51 tons and 23.7 tons, respectively. Currently, the Kumarji Bolo deposit has started operations, while the Duobai Sharqi deposit is expected to begin production in 2023. The company’s annual output will be 4 tons of gold and 1 ton of silver.
　　In the same month, the 5,000-ton-per-day antimony-gold mining and beneficiation project of TALCO Gold—a China-Tajikistan joint venture—was completed and put into operation. President Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan attended the project’s commissioning ceremony. Once the project reaches full capacity, it is expected to process 1.5 million tons of ore annually, producing 2.2 metric tons of gold concentrate and 16,000 metric tons of antimony concentrate per year. According to Tajik sources, TALCO Gold operates a total of three mines, with combined antimony reserves of 265,000 tons and gold reserves of 50 tons.
　　In addition, according to the Tajik ambassador to Turkey, businesses from both Tajikistan and Turkey will establish joint ventures in Tajikistan to jointly develop mineral resources, including gold mines.
