In recent years, with the implementation of the “Going Global” strategy and the successful launch of the Belt and Road Initiative projects, nonferrous metal enterprises have made significant progress in overseas investment and international operations. This year, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association has, for the first time, ranked overseas assets of nonferrous metal enterprises and calculated their internationalization index in accordance with international practices.
　　Among the top 20 nonferrous metal enterprises, the share of overseas assets in their total assets exceeds 30%. In 2021, the total overseas assets of these top 20 nonferrous metal enterprises amounted to 923.83 billion yuan, accounting for 30.4% of their combined total assets. In 2021, their overseas business revenue reached 714.77 billion yuan, representing 19.8% of the total operating revenue of these 20 enterprises. Furthermore, in 2021, these enterprises had 90,000 employees working overseas, constituting 12.4% of the total workforce across these 20 companies.
　　In 2021, among the top 20 nonferrous metal enterprises with overseas assets, 17 had overseas assets exceeding 10 billion yuan. Additionally, four companies had overseas assets surpassing 100 billion yuan, namely: China Aluminum Corporation Limited, China Minmetals Corporation, Luoyang Luanchuan Molybdenum Industry Group Co., Ltd., and Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd.
　　In 2021, among the top 20 nonferrous metal enterprises with overseas assets, five companies had an internationalization index approaching or exceeding 50%. These five companies are, in order: Northern Mining Co., Ltd., Luanchuan Molybdenum Industry Group Co., Ltd. of Luoyang, Tianqi Lithium Corporation, China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd.
