Seven departments issue a document: Strive to achieve breakthroughs in more than 50 types of intelligent inspection equipment, core components, and specialized software by 2025.

On the 23rd, reporters learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that seven departments—including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the China National Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau—recently jointly issued the “Action Plan for the Development of the Intelligent Testing Equipment Industry (2023–2025)”, which clearly states that by 2025, intelligent testing technologies will basically meet the manufacturing process requirements of user sectors. A preliminary innovation system for intelligent testing equipment will be established, with breakthroughs made in more than 50 types of intelligent testing equipment, core components, and specialized software. Some high-end equipment will reach internationally advanced levels, and product quality will be significantly improved.
Intelligent inspection equipment is a core component of smart manufacturing, closely linked to stable production operations, ensuring product quality, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency. In recent years, demand for intelligent inspection equipment has been steadily increasing, making it even more crucial to accelerate the development of this industry.
The action plan proposes that by 2025, intelligent inspection technologies will basically meet the manufacturing process requirements of user industries; the supply capacity of core components, specialized software, and complete equipment will be significantly enhanced; demonstrative initiatives and large-scale applications of intelligent inspection equipment in key areas will yield notable results; and a preliminary industrial ecosystem will be established, essentially satisfying the needs of smart manufacturing development. At the same time, the action plan sets forth a series of targets covering technological R&D, industry applications, and industrial system development. For example, it aims to promote demonstration applications of more than 100 intelligent inspection devices and cultivate over 30 specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative “little giant” enterprises in the intelligent inspection equipment sector.
To achieve the above-mentioned goals, the action plan clearly identifies four key initiatives: the Industrial Foundation Innovation Project, the Supply Capacity Enhancement Project, the Technology and Equipment Promotion Project, and the Industrial Ecosystem Optimization Project. Under the Industrial Foundation Innovation Project, it is proposed to support the establishment of a number of national-level key laboratories, engineering research centers, and innovation centers for intelligent testing equipment—R&D and innovation platforms—and to promote collaborative research and development across industrial chains.
A relevant official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that they will closely focus on the development trends of precision, reliability, intelligence, and integration in testing equipment, making concerted efforts to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies, enhance high-end supply capabilities, accelerate the promotion and application of advanced technologies, and strengthen market entities, thereby building an intelligent testing equipment industry system that is well-suited to the development of smart manufacturing.
