According to a report by MiningWeekly, citing Reuters, a statement from Côte d'Ivoire's Ministry of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy indicated that the country’s gold production in 2022 reached 48 tons, an increase of 14% over the previous year.
　　To achieve economic diversification, the world’s largest cocoa producer is seeking to develop its mining sector, which has long been neglected.
　　In recent years, Ivory Coast’s gold production has been steadily increasing, and this year’s output is expected to reach 50 tons, with two new mines set to come online.
　　In 2024, the country’s gold production is expected to reach 55 tons, as a new mine operated by Endeavour will come on stream at that time.
　　Other major gold companies operating in Côte d'Ivoire include Barrick Gold and Perseus Mining.
　　In 2022, Côte d'Ivoire's manganese production totaled 929,700 tons, a decrease of 3%; nickel ore production reached 1.84 million tons, an increase of 31%.
