According to the website of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide reached 887.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 22.9% (calculated on a comparable basis).
In January and February, among industrial enterprises above a designated size, state-owned holding enterprises achieved total profits of 344.91 billion yuan, down 17.5% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises recorded total profits of 671.90 billion yuan, a decrease of 19.4%; foreign-invested and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-invested enterprises reported total profits of 176.13 billion yuan, down 35.7%; and private enterprises posted total profits of 255.93 billion yuan, a decline of 19.9%.
In January and February, the mining industry achieved total profits of 234.37 billion yuan, down 0.1% year-on-year; the manufacturing industry recorded total profits of 583.78 billion yuan, a decrease of 32.6%; and the electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply industry generated total profits of 69.06 billion yuan, up 38.6%.
In January and February, among the 41 major industrial sectors, profits increased year-on-year in 10 sectors, reduced losses in 1 sector, declined in 28 sectors, and turned from profit to loss in 2 sectors. The profit performance of key industries is as follows: The power, heat production, and supply industry saw its total profits rise by 53.1% year-on-year; the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry grew by 41.5%; the oil and natural gas extraction industry rose by 8.6%; the general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 0.2%; coal mining and washing declined by 2.3%; the agricultural and sideline food processing industry fell by 6.3%; the special equipment manufacturing industry dropped by 8.9%; the textile industry declined by 37.1%; the non-metallic mineral products industry fell by 39.2%; the automobile manufacturing industry decreased by 41.7%; the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry fell by 56.6%; the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling industry declined by 57.2%; the computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry dropped by 77.1%; and both the petroleum, coal, and other fuel processing industry and the ferrous metal smelting and rolling industry shifted from profit to loss.
In January and February, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved operating revenues of 19.30 trillion yuan, down 1.3% year-on-year; their operating costs totaled 16.38 trillion yuan, declining by 0.2%; and their operating revenue profit margin was 4.60%, down 1.29 percentage points year-on-year.
At the end of February, the total assets of industrial enterprises above designated size amounted to 156.50 trillion yuan, up 8.2% year-on-year; total liabilities reached 88.91 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.7%; and total equity reached 67.60 trillion yuan, up 7.6%. The asset-liability ratio stood at 56.8%, rising by 0.2 percentage points over the same period last year.
At the end of February, accounts receivable for industrial enterprises above designated size totaled 21.23 trillion yuan, up 10.9% year-on-year; finished goods inventory reached 5.99 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.7%.
In January and February, the cost per 100 yuan of operating revenue for industrial enterprises above a designated size was 84.86 yuan, an increase of 0.90 yuan year-on-year; expenses per 100 yuan of operating revenue were 8.51 yuan, up 0.20 yuan year-on-year.
At the end of February, for industrial enterprises above a designated size, operating revenue per 100 yuan of assets stood at 74.0 yuan, down 7.1 yuan year-on-year; per capita operating revenue reached 1.58 million yuan, up 6,000 yuan year-on-year; the inventory turnover days for finished products were 21.9 days, an increase of 2.1 days year-on-year; and the average collection period for accounts receivable was 6. 6.0 days, An increase of 7.3 days year-on-year.
