Greatland Gold has encountered “significant high-grade” mineralization in a deep drill hole at its Rudall project in the Patterson Province of Western Australia, within the Ramses target area. The project is located just 20 kilometers from the world-class Havieron copper-gold project.
This drill hole, co-funded by the Western Australia Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), intersected mineralization at a depth of 924 meters over a 18-meter interval, with a gold grade of 22 grams per tonne. This included a 1-meter-thick zone of mineralization grading 393 grams per tonne; the final hole did not penetrate the ore body.
The hole also revealed unusual mineralization of copper, silver, bismuth, and arsenic.
This target area still has room for further expansion in the deeper regions; the final hole was primarily limited by technical constraints.
The company plans to adjust its work layout and conduct geochemical and in-hole electromagnetic surveys to assess the potential for shallow mineralization.
The Lanzes target area is 500 meters thick in the vertical direction and generally has a cylindrical shape, located between 300 and 700 meters below the cap rock.
The steep dip of the ore body suggests that it may extend down to the top of the basement, at a depth of 550 meters below the surface.
