Encounter Resources has discovered a large, near-surface niobium-rare earth deposit within the Crean Carbonatite Complex at its Aileron project in the West Arunta region of Western Australia, which is located adjacent to the Luni and P2 discoveries by WA1 Resources.
In June, the company encountered mineralization at Hoschke. The two newly drilled diamond cores in Klean primarily revealed the following mineralized zones:
Mineralization was encountered at a depth of 64 meters over an interval of 282 meters, with a niobium grade of 0.54% and a total rare earth oxide (TREO) grade of 0.17%. The final borehole did not penetrate the mineralized zone. Specifically, mineralization was found at a depth of 209 meters over an interval of 4.9 meters, with a niobium grade of 2.2% and a TREO grade of 0.2%.
Another reverse-circulation drill hole deployed 200 meters away encountered 150 meters of carbonate rock at a depth of 40 meters, but no samples have been collected yet.
The company’s reverse circulation drilling is ongoing, and a diamond drill will be used for perimeter exploration drilling.
