On the 17th, reporters learned at the press briefing for the 2023 China International Mining Conference that the 2023 (25th) China International Mining Conference is scheduled to be held from October 26 to 28, 2023, at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center, adopting a hybrid “offline + online” format.
　　The 2023 China International Mining Conference is guided by the Ministry of Natural Resources of China and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, organized by the China Mining Association, and undertaken by Tianjin Mine Expo International Exhibition Co., Ltd. This year’s conference is themed “Innovation-Driven, Promoting High-Quality Development of the Mining Industry.” It aims to serve as a platform and bridge for fostering new patterns of international cooperation in the mining sector post-pandemic, and for jointly promoting the development and prosperity of the global mining industry through exchanges and collaboration among countries, regions, industries, and enterprises.
　　Peng Qiming, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the China International Mining Conference and President of the China Mining Association, revealed at the briefing held on the same day that this year’s conference has received high attention from government departments both at home and abroad, as well as a strong response from colleagues in the mining industry. The level of participation is equal to or even exceeds that of 2019. Mining ministers and diplomatic envoys from more than ten countries—including Ghana, Suriname, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Zimbabwe, and Cuba—will attend the conference.
　　The 2023 China International Mining Conference will be held concurrently with the International Mining Exhibition. Peng Qiming revealed that the exhibition area of the conference will reach 30,000 square meters. Currently, nearly 260 domestic and international exhibitors have reserved booths, including 21 from overseas—representing countries such as Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Germany, Finland, the United States, and Australia.
　　Regarding forum arrangements, Peng Qiming stated that the conference features one keynote forum, four high-level forums, and 17 specialized forums. These forums will focus on exploring and interpreting current hot topics in the mining industry, with particular emphasis on the concepts of safe development, green development, innovative development, and integrated development in the mining sector. At the same time, this conference has retained traditional segments in its specialized forums—such as the supply-and-demand situation for mineral products and the mining capital market—providing attendees with up-to-date information to keep them informed about the latest market trends.
　　It was revealed that during this conference, more than 200 experts, scholars, and corporate executives from both home and abroad will deliver speeches at the forum, including 65 foreign guests from 25 countries and regions overseas.
　　To leverage the conference as a platform for serving the nation’s development strategy and fostering international exchanges and cooperation in the mining sector, the conference features seven country- and region-specific promotion sessions, showcasing each country’s resource potential, mining projects, and mining policies.
