How to expand exploration results and boost the reserve and production of Jiangxi Province’s key mineral resources has become a topic of great concern. Recently, Jiangxi issued the “Implementation Opinions on Further Strengthening the Full-Chain Management of Mineral Resources” (hereinafter referred to as the “Implementation Opinions”), which sets forth requirements for enhancing the province’s overall capacity to secure mineral resources.
　　According to Zhang Shaocong, Deputy Director of the Geological Exploration Management Division of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Natural Resources, the "Implementation Opinions" focus on 18 mineral resources—including lithium, cobalt, gold, tungsten, and rare earth elements—and will organize and implement a new round of strategic actions for breakthroughs in mineral exploration across the province. The province will establish five mining economic zones, each with its own distinctive features, mutually complementary, and jointly developed. This will essentially create a new exploration paradigm characterized by close integration and mutual promotion among strategic mineral potential surveys and evaluations, detailed and precise exploration of mineral resources, geological science and technology innovation, strategic mineral resource reserves, and comprehensive development and utilization.
　　Actively seek strong support from the Ministry of Natural Resources and deploy strategic mineral block selection and evaluation across the province. Fully leverage the special funds allocated by the provincial government for natural resource conservation and utilization to carry out surveys and evaluations of key metallogenic belts and mineral exploration in priority mining districts. Continuously enhance the level of basic geological surveys and mineral exploration efforts throughout the province, ensuring increased reserves and production of scarce and advantageous mineral resources, thereby providing robust mineral resource support for Jiangxi Province’s key industrial chains and industrial clusters.
　　Focusing on key areas such as strategic mineral exploration, deep-earth resource detection, clean energy exploration and extraction, and the conservation and comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, we will strengthen research on major theoretical issues, tackle core critical technologies, and advance the development of cutting-edge exploration and mining equipment. Upholding technology-driven empowerment and innovation-led development, we will further enhance the exploitation and utilization of geological data and promote the construction of information systems, thereby driving and facilitating the improvement of geological prospecting capabilities and the efficiency of mineral resource utilization.
