Recently, the Institute of Nuclear Physics and Chemistry Engineering (INPCE), affiliated with China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), has, after years of collaborative research and technological breakthroughs, successfully produced for the first time a gram-scale quantity of nickel-64 isotopes with an abundance exceeding 99%. This milestone marks China’s achievement of a world-leading position in the field of research on novel stable isotopes. Currently, only a very small number of countries possess this technology, which is why nickel-64 is extremely expensive—its price is roughly hundreds of times that of gold of the same weight.
