The website of the British Mining Journal has listed the top ten drilling achievements of 2024 based on drilling data from Opaxe.

Located at the No. 1 spot is the PLN uranium mine in Canada, operated by F3 Uranium Corp., where drilling encountered mineralization 7.5 meters thick at a depth of 196 meters, with a uranium (U3O8) grade of 30.9%.

The second-ranked project is the West McArthur uranium mine in Canada, operated by CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. Drilling at a depth of 796.6 meters encountered mineralization over a 16.8-meter interval, with a uranium (U3O8) grade of 13.75%.

Third place is occupied by Ora Gold Ltd.’s Crown Price gold mine in Australia, where drilling encountered mineralization 20 meters thick at a depth of 40 meters, with a gold grade of 277 grams per ton.

The fourth-ranked deposit is the Kiena gold mine in Canada, operated by Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. Drilling at a depth of 340 meters intersected mineralization over a 22.1-meter interval, with a gold grade of 218.87 grams per tonne.

The fifth-ranked project is the Coka Rakita copper-gold mine in Serbia, operated by Dundee Precious Metals Inc. Drilling encountered mineralization over a 80-meter interval at a depth of 123 meters, with a gold grade of 53.18 grams per ton and a copper grade of 0.15%.

Ranking sixth is Alamos Gold Inc.’s Island project in Canada, where drilling encountered mineralization over a 28.50-meter interval at a depth of 87.85 meters, with a gold grade of 102.42 grams per tonne.

The seventh-ranked project is the Haile gold mine in the United States, operated by OceanGold Corp. Drilling at a depth of 284.7 meters encountered mineralization over a 82-meter interval, with a gold grade of 35.07 grams per tonne.

The eighth-ranked deposit is the Roughrider uranium mine in Canada, operated by Uranium Energy Corp. Drilling at a depth of 271.1 meters encountered mineralization over a 13.5-meter interval, with a uranium (U3O8) grade of 6.96%.

The ninth-ranked project is the Sunday Creek gold mine project of Southern Cross Gold Ltd. in Australia, where drilling encountered a mineralized zone 1 meter thick at a depth of 684.3 meters, with a grade of 2,318 grams per ton.

The 10th-ranked project is the Kainantu gold-silver-copper project operated by K92 Mining Inc. in Papua New Guinea. Drilling at a depth of 239 meters revealed mineralization over a 78.5-meter interval, with grades of 24.94 grams per tonne for gold, 116 grams per tonne for silver, and 0.38% for copper. This project previously ranked among the top 10 in 2018 and 2019, and was ranked 15th in 2021.
