The Northern Fujian Geological Team has identified 15 prospective mineral exploration areas, with a focus on strategic minerals such as gold, fluorite, and tungsten.

In the new round of strategic actions for breakthroughs in mineral exploration, the Northern Fujian Geological Brigade has been deeply engaged in the Wuyi metallogenic belt, undertaking 23 geologic projects related to mineral resources. They have steadily advanced basic geological research and mineral exploration efforts, identifying a total of 15 prospective exploration targets. Additionally, they have newly discovered two large-scale ore deposits, three medium-scale ore deposits, and five sources of mineral water.
In terms of strategic mineral exploration, the team has focused on strategic minerals such as gold, fluorite, and tungsten, strengthening research into regional metallogenic patterns and deploying exploration efforts in key prospective areas, deep parts of existing mines, and their surrounding regions. In the Taining gold-prospecting area, through preliminary surveys and detailed investigations, they have broken the traditional notion that gold deposits "die once they turn red," discovering new gold deposits within the Caledonian mixed granites. The cumulative gold reserves at the Hebaoshan Gold Mine and the Changxing Gold Mine in Taining have reached the scale of large-sized deposits, marking a significant breakthrough in gold resource reserves. In the Shaowu fluorite-prospecting area, the team has conducted comprehensive surveys and evaluations of fluorite deposits, identifying two promising target areas for fluorite exploration. Following the implementation of a preliminary survey and detailed investigation of the Xiaojiafang Aoshang Fluorite Deposit in Shaowu, the initially estimated fluorite reserves have reached the scale of medium-sized deposits. In the Jiangle-Shaowu tungsten-prospecting area, the team has carried out extensive tungsten exploration efforts. Through integrated analysis and evaluation, they have broadened their exploration approach from quartz-vein-type deposits to skarn-type tungsten deposits, significantly expanding the exploration potential. In the Sanjing mining district of Shaowu, four new industrial-grade tungsten ore bodies and one low-grade tungsten ore body have been discovered, with potential reserves expected to reach the scale of medium-sized deposits.
In terms of exploration for specialty mineral resources, the team is focusing on locally distinctive minerals such as quartz, silver, kaolin for Jian ware, and clay minerals. By pooling resources and expertise from various sources, the team is intensifying its exploration efforts. The Shizhu Quartz Deposit in Yanping boasts ore reserves reaching the scale of a large deposit; the Shuiwei Silver Mine in Shaowu has explored silver reserves that amount to a medium-sized deposit. Both the Nanshan Kaolin Mine and the Clay Mine in Jiayang have reserves that also reach the medium-scale level. Furthermore, exploration activities targeting vein quartz, granite for construction, metamorphic granites for construction, and marble have been carried out in the Lizhi Pit, Tieling, and Huiyaoshan mining areas in Songxi County, holding promise for achieving significant mineral discovery results.
In the field of liquid mineral exploration, the team proactively aligns with the industrial development needs of Nanping City as well as the daily life and production requirements of local residents. Taking mineral water exploration as a key focus, they are actively promoting the development of the water industry. In Jiangkou Town, Jianyang, they have newly discovered the first “radon spring” in the Nanping area, with a daily output of 400 tons. This discovery is expected to boost employment and empower rural revitalization. Additionally, the team has constructed demonstration water supply projects in water-scarce townships such as Yanshan Town in Shaowu and Jiyang Town in Jian'ou, providing a total of 10 water wells that now meet the daily water needs of approximately 15,000 people. Among these wells, one has a daily output exceeding 1,000 tons and boasts a metasilicic acid content greater than 40%, meeting the standards for natural drinking mineral water. Furthermore, the team has conducted a comprehensive survey of high-quality water resources within Nanping City, identifying 27 new sites of high-quality surface water sources and adding 12 new areas suitable for mineral water exploration. They have also pinpointed five mineral water source sites with annual outputs exceeding 100,000 tons, providing solid geological support for the planning, construction, and management of Nanping’s water industry.
