According to a report by MiningNews.net, Peak Minerals announced that its Minta project in Cameroon has made a significant rutile discovery that could be “world-class.”
The Mingta project covers an area of 3,500 square kilometers. All drill holes—from the surface to an average depth of 4.7 meters—have revealed significant heavy mineral mineralization. The mineralized zone extends over a strike length of 12 kilometers.
The main mineralization occurrences are as follows: ◎ A 4.7-meter-thick zone with a heavy mineral (HM) grade of 2.9%; ◎ A 4.2-meter-thick zone with an HM grade of 2.4%. The drill hole that yielded mineralization is 4 meters deep, with a rutile grade of 1.05%. This drilling was conducted approximately 25 kilometers from the aforementioned hole.
The analysis of the sample with 304 holes has not yet been completed. According to Peak Company, “This project has never before undergone modern exploration. The company is using low-cost spiral drills because mineral deposits are visible at the surface, and other companies have also adopted this technology in Africa.”
