12 Moon 18 On [date], the appraisal meeting for the work titled “Theories and Methods for Mineral Exploration Prediction in Prospecting Areas,” organized by the Mineral Exploration Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Land and Resources, was held in Beijing. The appraisal committee, chaired by Chen Yuchuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that the monograph proposed... “ Trinity ” The theory and methods for mineral exploration prediction in exploration areas are original, scientific, and practical. They not only significantly promote the development of ore deposit theory in China but also provide direct support for mineral exploration efforts. The research results have reached an internationally leading level.
The compilation of “Theory and Methods for Mineral Exploration Prediction in Prospecting Areas” was led by the Development Research Center of the China Geological Survey (Ministry of Natural Resources’ Technical Guidance Center for Mineral Exploration), and took a total of... 6 Year. Starting from large-scale mineral exploration and prospecting predictions in the exploration area, researchers have identified universal patterns in the mineralization process—serving as key indicators for mineral exploration forecasting—by studying both the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that influence the geochemical behavior of ore-forming elements as they transition from a dissolved state to a solid state. They have proposed a geological methodology for mineral exploration in the exploration area, thereby overcoming the challenge of mineral exploration prediction under conditions of information asymmetry and significantly enhancing the credibility of such predictions. This approach provides a systematic methodological framework for advancing breakthroughs in mineral exploration within China’s integrated exploration zones.
The appraisal committee believes that the monograph features several innovations in the theoretical and methodological approaches to ore-forming and mineral exploration: It employs an integrated study of time, space, matter, and energy in ore-forming processes, thereby establishing a theoretical framework for the study of ore-forming geological bodies; it leverages the relationship between ore formation and tectonic processes to develop a systematic theoretical methodology for studying ore-forming structural planes; and it has successfully identified characteristic markers of ore-forming geological bodies, ore-forming structures, ore-forming structural planes, and ore-forming processes themselves. “ Trinity ” Deep integration and precise characterization of the three-dimensional spatial structure of mineralization styles; for the first time, a systematic framework has been established for sandstone-type uranium deposits, hydrothermal sedimentary lead-zinc deposits, and stratabound lead-zinc deposits hosted in carbonate rocks in China. 25 The geological model for prospecting prediction of major ore deposit types holds significant guiding importance for prospecting prediction in exploration areas.
According to reports, the research findings have achieved remarkable results in mineral exploration practices across the country, including the search for replacement resources in crisis mines, exploration of deep and peripheral areas in old mines, and comprehensive exploration campaigns. 2004–2015 Year, guided by this theory, we implemented a total of 398 A mineral exploration project featuring a mine with newly discovered reserves reaching large-scale levels. 62 Small and medium-sized 117 Place.
