Introduction: Recently, the China Geological Survey organized and convened a workshop on the Key Mineral Resource Exploration Program. The meeting focused on discussing and refining project objectives and tasks, ensuring the achievement of anticipated outcomes, optimizing work deployment, and enhancing service levels. Special invited experts and coordinators of the Key Mineral Resource Exploration Program were in attendance.
To implement the spirit of the National Geological Survey Work Conference and advance the implementation of the Key Mineral Resource Survey Plan, the China Geological Survey recently organized a workshop on the Key Mineral Resource Survey Plan Project. The meeting focused on discussing and refining project objectives and tasks, ensuring the achievement of expected outcomes, optimizing work deployment, and enhancing service levels. Attending the meeting were specially invited experts, coordinators of the Key Mineral Resource Survey Plan, chief persons from the leading units of the project, chief scientists of the project, key persons from the project undertaking units, and project leaders—all of whom engaged in thorough discussions regarding the plan’s scope. 12 The project underwent careful, comprehensive, and in-depth deliberations.
The meeting achieved three major outcomes: First, the work orientation was clarified, and the objectives and tasks for each project were firmly established. In accordance with the central government’s positioning for public-interest geological surveys, and based on the overall objectives outlined in the plan, the specific goals of each project were clearly defined in terms of supporting breakthroughs in mineral exploration, promoting scientific and technological progress, and fostering institutional innovation. Furthermore, the key tasks were refined and implemented, including establishing major mineral resource bases, strengthening the geological foundation for breakthroughs in mineral exploration, achieving breakthroughs in mineral exploration for strategic emerging industries, supporting poverty alleviation efforts in key regions, and preparing comprehensive geological maps covering 10,000 square kilometers.
Second, we have proposed quantifiable outcome indicators and broken them down for implementation across all projects. We anticipate that... 2020 Year, completed 1 ∶ 5 Mineral and Geological Survey of Wan 100 10,000 square kilometers—delimiting mineral exploration target areas 2000 Location: Newly Discovered Mineral Deposit 200 Place, support formation 3 a copper resource base with a capacity of tens of millions of tons, 3 A thousand-ton-level gold resource base, 2 A multi-million-ton lead-zinc resource base, cultivating outstanding talents. 3 ~ 5 Name, outstanding talent 20 ~ 30 Name, outstanding talent 200 ~ 300 Name, and promote the construction of business platforms, etc.
Third, we analyzed the existing problems and further optimized work deployment. Focusing on the target tasks and expected outcomes, and addressing specific issues such as insufficiently precise positioning, unclear thinking, inadequate deployment, and unimplemented supporting measures, we put forward recommendations aimed at streamlining the business promotion system and project management framework, optimizing the deployment of mineral geological surveys, strengthening exploration for deep-seated hidden mineral deposits, enhancing industry-academia-research collaboration, and intensifying training and seminars.
Experts stated that, through the seminar, each project has further clarified its role and defined its working approach, and has explicitly identified... 2015 Year, 2017 Year and 2020 The annual goals and tasks for each stage, expected outcomes, and service products have been optimized, and work arrangements have been refined and measures implemented effectively, laying a solid foundation for achieving the overall goals and tasks of the critical mineral resource survey plan and playing a crucial supporting role in advancing the realization of the second-phase objectives of the strategic action to achieve breakthroughs in mineral exploration.
