On June 27, the 2018 China Mining Circular Economy and Green Mining Development Forum was held in Huzhou, Zhejiang.
From June 27 to 28, the 2018 China Mining Circular Economy and Green Mining Development Forum, hosted by the China Mining Association, was held in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. Xiong Zili, a member of the Leading Group for Land and Ecological Restoration under the Ministry of Natural Resources, attended and delivered a speech. Zhang Hongtao, Counselor to the State Council, and Peng Qiming, President of the China Mining Association, also attended the conference and gave keynote speeches. The meeting was co-chaired by Peng Qiming, President of the China Mining Association, and Pan Shengming, President of the Zhejiang Provincial Mining Association.

Peng Qiming, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the China Mining Association, delivered a speech titled “Development Space, Paths, and Prospects for the Mining Industry in the New Era.”

Wang Xiaoqiang, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Land and Resources of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, delivered a speech titled “Mineral Development and Urban Construction.”
Relevant government authorities, expert consultants, and enterprise representatives exchanged experiences in green mining development and discussed future directions, focusing on topics such as technological and model innovation for green mining development, remediation of abandoned mines, green exploration, and sustainable utilization of mining sites.

Huzhou is the only national demonstration zone for green mining development in Zhejiang Province that has been approved by the State Council. It was among the first in China to propose the construction of green mines and issued the country’s first local standard for green mine construction. To date, Huzhou has built 47 green mines, achieving a completion rate of 96%, including 8 national-level green mines.

More than 1,000 representatives from relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Natural Resources, land and resource systems of various provinces, geological exploration institutions, mining associations (federations), pilot green mine units, mining enterprises, research institutes, and third-party service agencies attended the forum.
