At the meeting, Che Changbo, Deputy Director of the Department of Geological Exploration at the Ministry of Natural Resources, provided an in-depth analysis of the current socio-economic situation and the ongoing administrative reform efforts in China. He also highlighted the Ministry’s major initiatives aimed at reforming the exploration and development of mineral resources. He noted that, against the backdrop of China’s new economic normal and continued reform and opening-up, the landscape of geological exploration has undergone profound changes—driven by both international and domestic factors. Looking ahead, China’s economic development will continue to maintain high demand for mineral resources for some time to come. Meanwhile, the construction of an ecological civilization is placing ever-higher demands on the intensive and efficient use of resources and on environmental protection.
