The key exploration and demonstration project for the eastern segment of the Qinhang Metallogenic Belt is a sub-project undertaken by the Nanjing Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey. It falls under the umbrella of the “Jiangnan—” "Hua Xia Ancient Continent Geological and Mineral Survey Project," "Geological and Mineral Survey of the Jiangnan Landmass and Its Surrounding Areas," and "Key Mineral Resource Survey Program."
Currently, the 2015 project is progressing smoothly, and certain work items have even exceeded their targets. We have completed studies on eight typical ore deposits, conducted mineral geological surveys at a scale of 1:10,000 covering 15 square kilometers, mineral geological surveys at a scale of 1:50,000 covering 50 square kilometers, magnetic surveys at a scale of 1:10,000 covering 48 square kilometers, mineral geological surveys at a scale of 1:25,000 covering 120 square kilometers, mechanical core drilling totaling 2,200 cubic meters, and trench exploration totaling 600 cubic meters, among other activities.
The project has established mine-site cards for the study area, delineated regional stratigraphic units and tectonic frameworks, and gained a comprehensive understanding of the major mineralization types, ore-bearing formations, and structural distributions within the area. We have completed 1:2,000-scale field geological profile surveys in the Yinshan-Tianzitang area of Dexing County, as well as 1:50,000-scale mineralogical and geological mapping of the Yinshan-Tianzitang region. We have also verified the gold deposits at Jigongjian and Daziling and investigated geochemical anomalies. Our findings indicate that the Jigongjian and Daziling gold deposits are of the structurally altered rock type, controlled by northeast-trending brittle faults within the Xikou Formation. Locally, these faults also exhibit characteristics of plastic deformation following brittle failure. The primary host rocks for mineralization include silty phyllite, fractured plate-like phyllite, and quartz veins. Drilling hole ZK2403 at Daziling shows a positive correlation between gold mineralization and the degree of rock fracturing and quartz vein development.
