Recently, a delegation led by Li Jinfafa, Deputy Director-General of the China Geological Survey, visited Zhejiang Province to conduct research on agricultural geology. The delegation inspected the China Geological Survey’s Center for Agricultural Geology Application Research, listened to reports on our province’s geological exploration efforts and the construction of the Agricultural Land Center, and held a symposium to discuss how geological surveys of land quality can support land management. The research team also traveled to Jiaxing City to conduct an on-site inspection of the geochemical survey project for land quality in Haiyan County and engaged in further discussions and exchanges.
Deputy Director Li Jinfā fully affirmed Zhejiang Province’s geological survey work, pointing out that Zhejiang’s agricultural geological survey efforts are among the leading ones nationwide, laying a solid foundation for establishing a comprehensive system integrating land quantity, quality, and ecological conservation, as well as for developing specialty agriculture. He emphasized that Zhejiang’s geological survey work should focus on resource and environmental issues, driving reform and innovation accordingly. The primary focus should be on using geological surveys of land quality to support land management, while strengthening cooperation with the China Geological Survey Bureau in areas such as land management services, deep-sea mineral exploration, and marine economic development.
During the research visit, Chen Tiexiong, Party Secretary and Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Natural Resources and国土资源, held a meeting with Deputy Director Li Jinfā and his delegation. Deputy Director Li Jinfā conveyed the guiding principles issued by Minister Jiang Daming and Director Zhong Ziran, and discussed arrangements for the Ministry of Natural Resources to hold a “Field Experience Exchange Meeting on Geological Survey Services for Land Management” in Zhejiang on “June 25 Land Day.” The relevant work was also finalized. Meanwhile, both sides reached consensus on collaborating in areas such as land quality assessment, deep mineral exploration in eastern regions, coastal zone geology, urban geology, new energy (geothermal), and geological hazard prevention.
