3 Moon 23 On [date], Teng Jiwen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a researcher at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with his delegation, visited the Anhui Provincial Institute of Exploration Technology for an inspection and discussion. He stated that, judging from the current mineral exploration results in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, strengthening the close integration of industry, academia, and research and conducting exploratory studies on deep-seated mineral resources will be the primary direction for future development.
After listening to a report by Wang Qingsong, Party Secretary and Chief Engineer of the institute, on the progress of research into deep-prospecting technologies for mineral exploration across Anhui Province, Academician Teng Jiwen pointed out that, in today’s context of scientific and technological reform and development, the primary task is to build a national innovation system by orienting efforts toward the market, placing enterprises at the center, and strengthening close integration among industry, academia, and research institutions. Given that geological exploration units are now facing institutional reforms, they should more actively promote and deepen industry-academia-research cooperation, injecting new vitality into their transformation and upgrading. Judging from current mineral exploration results in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, mineral deposits are relatively concentrated; therefore, conducting in-depth exploration and research into deep-prospecting endeavors will become the main direction for future development.
He hopes and suggests that the Anhui Provincial Institute of Exploration Technology should clearly define its objectives and earnestly focus on deep-earth mineral exploration. First, it should identify the existing practical challenges in mineral exploration and improve the configuration of hardware equipment accordingly. Second, it should ensure that software resources are synchronized to meet operational needs. Third, it should strengthen collaborative partnerships with research institutes and higher education institutions, integrating technological innovation with the application of advanced methods to achieve mutually beneficial and healthy development.
During the symposium, leaders from the Anhui Provincial Institute of Exploration Technology also engaged in a detailed discussion with researchers from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, who had accompanied the visit, focusing on new geophysical technologies and their practical applications.
