1 Moon 11 On [date], the Geological Exploration Association of the China Mining Association held its fourth session of the third council meeting in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. 100 A group of elite professionals from the geological exploration industry jointly discussed strategies and pathways for geologic work in the new era—embracing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, and pursuing new development.

　　The meeting clarified that, in the face of new circumstances, new opportunities, new policies, and new tasks, the geological exploration industry will undergo six major adjustments in its primary work:

　　The work focus has shifted from mineral exploration to... “ Mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, and land & minerals ” Adjustments to natural resource exploration,

　　The work elements have shifted from resource exploration to comprehensive exploration encompassing resources, the environment, spatial aspects, and disasters.

　　The work focus is shifting from being primarily land-based to a balanced emphasis on both land and marine areas.

　　Work style by “ Individual combat ” towards “ Three-dimensional operations ” the cross-disciplinary, cross-specialty, and cross-field adjustments,

　　The focus of mineral exploration is shifting from solid minerals to a balanced emphasis on clean energy minerals, strategic emerging minerals, and bulk scarce minerals.

　　The work deliverables have been adjusted from submitting exploration reports to submitting comprehensive work deliverables on an as-needed basis.

　　The meeting outlined the tasks that the geological exploration industry should undertake over the next three years. 5 Key priorities: Uphold innovative development and foster new driving forces for geological work; adhere to coordinated development, optimize the layout of mineral exploration and exploitation, strengthen support for major national strategies, promote coordinated development of resources and the environment, and establish a development pattern that integrates land and sea resources, equally emphasizes east and west regions, simultaneously focuses on oil and gas as well as bulk and strategic emerging minerals; pursue green development to achieve a win-win outcome of protecting the ecological environment and ensuring resource supply; and embrace open development to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in the mining sector, accelerate the pace of tapping overseas resources, and especially provide strong support. “ The Belt and Road ” Strengthen efforts to open up the mining sector to the outside world and build a stable, diversified, and secure resource supply system. Adhere to the principle of shared development, improve the mechanism for distributing benefits from resource exploitation, and contribute to poverty alleviation efforts.
