Geochemical mapping is the primary focus of exploration geochemistry. Geochemistry is a fundamental, broad-based discipline, and applied geochemistry is a branch of geochemistry itself. Among the various branches of applied geochemistry, exploration geochemistry stands out as the most important, with the goal of understanding the distribution patterns of chemical elements at global or regional scales.

The Mongolian Model: Chinese geochemists traveled to Mongolia to provide on-site training for the country’s geochemists and jointly carried out the first phase of geochemical field sampling.
