China Mineral Evaluation Association Joins CRIRSCO’s Off-Site Side Stories
This website reports that on the afternoon of November 30, 2025, at the Comprehensive Building of the National Library, following the signing—by Wang Shouxiang, President of the Board of Directors of the Third China Mining Rights Appraisers Association; Garth Kirkham, the current Chairman of CRIRSCO; and Peter Stoker, the Chinese Coordinator who has joined CRIRSCO—of the document formalizing the China Mining Rights Appraisers Association’s accession to CRIRSCO, Mr. Zhu Yangyang from the Aisike Global Center for Excellence in Mineral Resources, at the invitation of Peter Stoker, hosted a tea gathering for his friends Wang Jiahua, Chen Xianda, Yang Lu, and Wang Ji.

In the evening, Garth Kirkham, the current chairman of CRIRSCO, Edmund Sides, the incoming chairman, Wu Haiyang, the newly appointed president of the China Mining Rights Appraisers Association, Yang Xuesong, the vice president and secretary-general, and Zhang Dawei, the former vice president, all joined together to continue their exchange. Wang Jiahua said with a touch of humor that in this relay race, he was the first runner, Zhang Dawei was the second runner, and now the baton has been passed on to Wu Haiyang.

At the invitation and under the arrangement of Chairman Wu Haiyang, Garth Kirkham, the current Chairman of CRIRSCO, Edmund Sides, the incoming Chairman, and Peter Stoker, the Chinese coordinator who has joined CRIRSCO, delivered a special lecture to approximately 150 Chinese professionals on December 1 at the “First Advanced Training Workshop for Building a Competent Team.”

Additionally, at noon on November 30, Peter Stoker also met with senior Chinese experts Li Yuwei, Yan Tiexiong, and others. On November 29, in his speech inviting participation in the China Mining Appraisal Association’s leadership transition conference and the signing of the document formalizing the China Mining Rights Appraisers Association’s accession to CRIRSCO, Peter Stoker looked back on nearly two decades of interactions with his Chinese counterparts, recounting key moments of exchange and mutual learning with these friends. It was precisely through the sustained efforts and unwavering dedication of both Chinese and foreign colleagues and friends that they jointly witnessed the historic process of the China Mining Appraisal Association’s accession to CRIRSCO—and forged deep and lasting friendships along the way.
Peter Stoker has made significant contributions to the China Association of Mining Rights Appraisers’ accession to CRIRSCO and to the exchange and integration between international and Chinese standards. Chinese professionals involved in the mining industry should remember this international friend!
