According to MiningWeekly, citing Reuters, data released by the central bank of the Democratic Republic of Congo—the largest copper-producing country in Africa—show that in the first quarter, the country’s copper production increased by 51% year-on-year, while cobalt production rose by 37%.
　　Statistics show that in the first three months, this Central African country produced 572,983 tons of copper and 28,990 tons of cobalt.
　　The Democratic Republic of the Congo is the world’s largest producer of cobalt, which is used to manufacture batteries for electric vehicles and other electronic devices.
　　In the first quarter, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s gold production totaled 7,797 kilograms, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.
　　In the first half of the year, among the world’s major copper-producing countries, Chile saw a decline in copper production, while Peru experienced a slight increase.
　　According to data from the BNAmericas website, Chile’s copper production in the first half of the year was approximately 2.65 million tons, a decrease of 5.3% year-on-year.
　　According to statistics from Peru's Ministry of Mining and Energy, in the first six months, the country's cumulative copper production reached 1.08 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.2%.
