On February 17, 1950, Comrade Mao Zedong personally inscribed the four characters “Develop Mining.” This inscription has become a tremendous spiritual treasure, inspiring generations of mining workers across the country to strive tirelessly for the development of the mining industry. This year marks the 12th “National Day for Mining Workers.” On this special occasion, in order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the important reply from General Secretary Xi Jinping to the Sixth Geological Brigade of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, we will actively and proactively integrate into the new round of strategic actions for breakthroughs in mineral exploration, continuously enhance the level of green exploration for mineral resources, and constantly improve our capacity to ensure the secure supply of national energy and mineral resources. The China Mining Association plans to organize a symposium on February 17, 2023, entitled “Commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong’s Inscription ‘Develop Mining’ and the New Round of Strategic Actions for Mineral Exploration Breakthroughs.”
