Pensana confirmed that its Coola exploration project in Angola has identified three types of rare-earth minerals in the Sulima West laterite-target area.
　　According to the company, the red soil of Surima contains fluorocarbon cerite, monazite, and phospho-cerite.
　　“Encouragingly, preliminary mineralogical studies have confirmed the processing potential of rare-earth-bearing minerals in the Surima red soil and the Kula carbonatite,” said Grant Hayward, Exploration Manager at Pensaña.
　　“Mineral processing using physical separation technology at the current site will be further evaluated through larger-scale sample testing, and these samples are currently being collected,” Hayward said.
　　“Clearly, we believe that both the Surimasi and Kula carbonate rocks have the potential for beneficiation at their current locations, thus enabling them to supply high-grade raw materials to Longonjo, which is located about 40 kilometers away.”
　　The Kula Project is located approximately 160 kilometers east of the port of Lobito and covers an area of 7,456 square kilometers. The project comprises three target areas with significant exploration potential: the Surimasi Carbonate, Benga Novo, and Kula Carbonate, which are situated 40 to 100 kilometers north of the Longongo Project.
