Recently, Ranking Merco Empresas released its latest ranking of corporate reputations for companies investing and doing business in Chile for 2023. Among the 100 companies listed, the top three are Mercado Libre, Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI), and Banco de Chile.
　　Among mining companies, Chile’s state-owned copper giant Codelco ranks highest, coming in at No. 13 on the list—a drop of seven places from the previous year. Meanwhile, Anglo American has shown the most impressive performance, climbing 23 places to No. 52, marking one of the three largest jumps on the list. Patricio Hidalgo, CEO of the company, expressed satisfaction with the evaluation results, noting that the ranking reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to reshape the mining industry and improve people’s lives. He pointed out that the greatest challenge facing the world today is climate change, and the company is committed to strengthening cooperation with various stakeholders, fostering spaces for dialogue and exchange, and promoting innovative initiatives that benefit all parties involved.
　　The “Corporate Reputation Ranking Network” annually assigns reputation scores and rankings to companies investing and operating in a given country, based on a series of parameters—including six evaluation criteria and more than 20 information sources. Countries that use this ranking network include Spain, Portugal, Italy, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, and others. The industries covered by the assessment span a wide range of sectors, such as food, insurance, pharmaceuticals, banking, training, tourism, and information and communications.
