On August 7, China National Petroleum Corporation announced that a ultra-deep drilling well located on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert has completed its drilling mission. During the operation, the well advanced at a record pace of 2,006 meters per day, setting a new national record for daily footage in onshore ultra-deep well drilling. This milestone marks a new breakthrough in China’s technology for accelerating ultra-deep well drilling.
　　The Tarim Oilfield’s Ha13-H9 well, which recently set a new record, is located in Shaya County, Xinjiang, and its drilling depth reached 7,341 meters.
　　This marks the second time in 10 days that the Tarim Oilfield has broken its own record for the highest daily footage drilled. Previously, the Yingxi 2 well, drilled by the Tarim Oilfield, reached a depth of 3,118 meters in just 7 days, achieving a daily footage of 1,908 meters.
　　Since the beginning of this year, the Tarim Oilfield has accelerated the exploration and development of ultra-deep oil and gas resources in the Tarim Basin by comprehensively promoting faster drilling speeds. As a result, the drilling cycle has been reduced by more than 20%, and the field has repeatedly broken China’s records for ultra-deep well drilling, significantly speeding up the commercialization of ultra-deep oil and gas resources.
