The spodumene lithium extraction project of Ganfeng Lithium recently entered formal operation and was completed at the Puguang Industrial Park in Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. This project features the world’s largest single-line capacity for spodumene lithium extraction. Construction of the project commenced in mid-July 2023, with the rotary kiln being ignited on October 30, 2024. On November 26 of the same year, the plant produced qualified battery-grade lithium carbonate. The lithium hydroxide workshop has also begun feeding materials and is expected to start producing battery-grade monohydrate lithium hydroxide soon. After a ramp-up phase of trial production, the project is projected to reach an annual output of 45,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate and battery-grade monohydrate lithium hydroxide by 2025.
