American Rare Earths recently announced the discovery of a rare-earth deposit at its Halleck Creek project in Wyoming, USA, with an initial estimated value of $37 billion.
It is reported that the newly discovered rare-earth deposit contains essential minerals such as rubidium, dysprosium, praseodymium, samarium, and terbium—key materials used in the manufacture of electronic devices, electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense technologies. Ameris Rare Earths stated that the project has so far explored only 25% of the total area, indicating even greater potential.
This discovery not only exceeded initial expectations but also strengthened the United States’ competitiveness in countering China’s dominant position in the rare-earth market. As a result, Wyoming has become a nerve center of the modern mining industry and can drive investment in renewable technologies and electric vehicles.
DON SCHWARTZ, CEO of American Rare Earths, emphasized that this discovery challenges the conventional trend—that resources typically decline as drilling efforts increase.
The Halleck Creek project, 100% owned by American Rare Earths, is estimated to hold reserves exceeding 2.34 billion tons, making it one of the largest rare-earth deposits ever discovered in the Western Hemisphere. Since commencing operations in 2023, the project has achieved remarkable results, with reserves increasing by 128% over initial estimates. At the same time, the project could reduce U.S. reliance on Chinese imports of rare earths by 74% and holds the potential to position the United States as a global leader in the rare-earth sector.
Currently, China controls the production and refining of global rare-earth minerals—resources critical to modern technology, energy transition, and national defense. [Note: Website of American Rare Earths: https://americanrareearths.com.au/]
