In 2024, China's imports of jewelry raw materials declined. According to the "2024 Import Volume and Value Table of Major Commodities" recently released by the General Administration of Customs, in 2024, China's imports of pearls, gemstones, and semi-precious stones fell by 36.3% year-on-year to 33.253 billion yuan, while diamond imports decreased by 32.8% year-on-year to 28.101 billion yuan.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s Dual Jewellery Exhibitions are set to open in March. The 41st Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the 11th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gemstone & Pearl Show—organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council of the HKSAR—will be held from March 4 to 8 and from March 2 to 6, respectively.
