As the eight-month ban on cobalt exports is set to expire next week, the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has announced this year’s remaining cobalt export quota. In a statement released on Saturday, the DRC’s Strategic Mineral Market Regulatory Authority said the quota will take effect on Saturday, October 16, and will be roughly calculated proportionally based on each company’s export performance over the three-year period ending at the end of 2024.
