National Bureau of Statistics: Coal production figures for the first five months, broken down by province and city nationwide, show that Shanxi’s output increased by 4.9% year-on-year.

Recently, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in May, China’s raw coal production reached 385.456 million tons, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year. From January to May, cumulative production totaled 1,911.914 million tons, up 4.8% over the same period last year.
Looking at provincial-level data, from January to May, the combined raw coal production of Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, and Guizhou totaled 1,606.796 million tons, accounting for 84.0% of the nation’s total output. Among these provinces, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, and Guizhou saw their cumulative raw coal production increase year-on-year by 4.9%, 2.2%, 1.1%, 24.1%, and 5.0%, respectively.
