According to a report by BNAmericas on March 18, Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy recently released a guide aimed at attracting international investors to develop the country’s critical minerals, which are essential for its energy transition. The guide provides detailed information on the reserves and production levels of Brazil’s key minerals—including lithium, nickel, copper, bauxite, rare earth elements, graphite, cobalt, niobium, and manganese—as well as the status of infrastructure development, including highways, railways, ports, airports, internet connectivity, and energy facilities. Additionally, the guide outlines the country’s exploration and development needs and regulatory requirements. In a statement, Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy emphasized that the global shift toward a low-carbon economy is driving up demand for critical minerals needed for the electrification of transportation and the expansion of renewable energy sources. Brazil’s abundant reserves of these critical minerals will make the country highly attractive to foreign investors.
